Pragtical 3.10.1 is available today for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS users. The new version brings plenty of new features and an improvement in speed. This new version also requires the latest clib4 v2.4 for AmigaOS 4. Make sure you have that installed before running Pragtical.

Do not miss trying out the Markdown preview, which can be enabled by the internal menu. So, open in the editor the text you want to preview, open the menu with CTRL+SHIFT+P and type markdown. An option for the preview will be available and selecting it the preview will show up at the right of the editor. The cool thing is that any change at the text is automatically reflected to the preview. Quite convenient while you pay attention to the text look and feel.

The second feature I would like to highlight is the support of Ligatures for the first time in an editor on AmigaOS 4. A ligature in an editor combines two or more characters into a single glyph to improve readability and visual flow. To set it a change in the Editor font settings needs to be done, enabling the Ligatures, as can be seen from the screenshot above.

In this version, the processes of the application changed completely. They follow a more posix implementation and with the help of clib4 this was possible to work on AmigaOS 4 with minimal changes. So more than 95% of the old code got removed. Unfortunately, that is not working yet on MorphOS, which needs further adjustments. So for now, this is disabled on the MorphOS version of the editor, until I find time to work on it in one of the next updates.
